Happy Birthday Ethan!!!

When I think of Ethan I think of sweet, smart especially good with numbers, he is quiet and my laid back child. He has always been really calm. Even when he was first born it took the nurses a little bit to get him to cry to clear out his lungs. Good thing I didn't know that until after the fact. :) Keep in mind he is still my little teaser. lol

This is at Mount Vernon when we lived in Virginia. I highly recommend visiting this tourist site.

Ethan was 2 in this picture I could not find him any where. We lived in Virginia in a town house with three floors and I finally heard a little noise from in the kitchen and found he imitated Spiderman and climbed to the top all by himself. Just sitting there. :)

Another time I went upstairs to check on Emma in bed and I came back down and couldn't find him. I smelled smoke and started to freak out. In the short time I was upstairs he had climbed on the the cabinet and got the matches out of the cupboard and went downstairs. He then stacked a bunch books on top of a chair and retrieved a candle from the fire place mantle. He had already lit one match and was working on the second, in an attempt to light the candle, by the time I found him. Ethan being 2 I had no idea he could get up there. Who knew he was watching us so close of how to use matches. ALL I COULD SAY TO THAT IS OH SHEESH WE HAVE A PYRO on our hands just like his dad when he was little. LOL

For Ethan's birthday he wanted a Indiana Jones Party. I was trying to think of ideas and we came up with a scavenger hunt of clues that started with a letter from Indiana Jones. The first clue led to crossing the snake pit. (A balance beam with a pile of rubber snaked below.) Thanks Michelle for letting us borrow the balance beam, it turned out perfect. Next the boys had fun mummifying each other with toilet paper. After that they got to feel snake's blood (warm and slightly congealed red jello), monkey brains ( spaghetti mixed with pudding), and goat eye balls (bouncy balls covered in pudding). I wasn't going to add this part, but Ethan insisted and I thought "boys like that kind of stuff". And then down through the cave to retrieve their treasure. This was by far the most enjoyed part of the hunt. We took as many blankets as we could and covered the stairs making it almost completely dark. We also threw a bunch of bean bags on the stairs for obstacles. Even after we had retrieved the treasure everyone kept going up and down the stairs. All in all I think everybody had a good time.
