A Much Needed Getaway

I went to a cabin up by Kamas last weekend and there ended up being 16 girls at the start of this awesome little getaway. I wish I got a picture Friday night with all 16 girls. Some girls left early so I don't have pictures of the whole group together. I haven't done a "girls night out", staying over a night or let alone a weekend, for about ten years. I realized I need to have "girls night out" more often. Thanks to Kent and all the husbands for making this happen. I heard the guys had a party of there own.

This is the group that stayed until Saturday afternoon.

I had to take a picture of this cute Cowboy guy. It reminded me a lot of my dad for some reason. I guess, because he is a cowboy and loves his horses.

This is a picture of our hike.

Michelle and Carrie having a "Teeter Totter Moment".

We hopped a couple of fences on another hike that we went on. We saw a big heard of deer, but I couldn't get my camera out fast enough to take a picture of them.

What's a party without junk food. We ate and ate....

Rebecca might kill me for posting this picture, but we were laughing at how big this sandwich was.

There you have it "Bon Appetit".

When I got home I thought I would be ornery from staying up until 3:30-4:00A.M. each night, but as soon as I got home it was nice to hear happy cheerful "Hi Mom, we missed you". How could you be ornery after hearing all that. The kids even drew cards and pictures for me and set out flowers. Kent even cleaned the house while I was gone. Maybe I should leave more often on these girl outings:) JK Kent. LOL. It was fun.

Camping In The Uintah Mountains With Friends.

Shadow Lake

Its amazing how much camping costs. The food, the camping spot, the gas; Everything adds up so quickly. An yet what the kids will remember most is the time they spent climbing on this big rock next to camp. Sometimes I wonder if it would have been easier just to find a big rock close to home and let them play there. LOL.

Emma and Cosette "Best Buds".

Red Rock Waterfalls

These waterfalls are a family favorite, because there are a few spots on the falls you can slide on the rock like a water slide.

"The Polar Plunge"

The guy's had this crazy idea to go into a deep spot of the falls and do a polar plunge.

AAhhh!!! I love it when my kids bring me flowers. It melts me every time...

We love exploring and the adventures these machines bring.

I would say we had a pretty good trip!!!

We sure had a lot of fun. I can't wait until next time... We are always up for a fun adventure...

First Day Of School

School time already!!! I have mixed feelings about school starting. I don't want summer to end, but ready for the routine to begin again. I know my kids are excited.

Geo-Cacheing Up Farmington Canyon

Two Sunday's ago I had a migraine headache and I got the kids ready for church and sent them on there way. I got in the shower and finally got my headache to go away. I decided to finish getting ready for church. On my way to church I saw everybody walking home. "I was thinking what is everybody doing?" When Kent saw me he burst out laughing real loud for all to hear. "The Fire Alarm went off". They sent everyone home early. I guess getting all ready for nothing is the thought that counts. right!

So getting out early, we decide to go up Farmington Canyon for a hike and do a Geo-cache.

A cave the kids found on the way to the waterfall.

Finding the Treasure.

Up by the waterfall I was surprised to see how many smashed cars there were up this ravine. I couldn't help, but think did the people in this car make it? There were about 6 cars in that ravine that have fallen off a cliff. Some more smashed than others.

Happy Birthday Karlie!!!

Karlie is my beautiful sweet heart. Ever since she was a baby she has always had a smile on her face with those cute dimples. She is always considerate of others and wants to include everyone. I am so blessed to have her as my oldest. She is a wonderful helper and is definitely my peacemaker. I know I can depend on her. Happy 9th birthday Karlie!!!

Karlie's new bike on her birthday.

Karlie's Birthday Party with her friends. There was eleven girls and they insisted on spraying Kent. He didn't mind I think they all had a blast.

First day of preschool.

I thought this picture was funny. A great example of having a cheezer smile. I love it.

Karlie and the best kitty we have ever had.

Halloween with the cousins.

My scanner is not working right now so I don't have baby pictures downloaded yet. It was fun to remember the fun times with Karlie. Happy 9th Birthday Karlie!!!

St. Anthony's

The Ice Cave

In this Ice cave you step down just beyond the opening and there is sheets of ice. It is amazing the temperature change outside of the cave was so hot and inside the cave was like winter. The rock formations all around was made of lava rock. Thank goodness for our flash lights it was pitch black. I would be scared out of my bejeezers if it weren't for everybody around me. There was one point in the cave you had to get on your belly to crawl through to the other side. I have never been in a cave before this one and it was quite the experience and adventure not knowing where you are going and relying on our friend's telling us it circled around to the beginning again.

This picture is inside the cave looking back.

While the parents took turns playing on the dunes, the kids were entertained catching polywogs and insisted on bringing them home.

Emma's polywog.

Emma and her friend Elyssa.

Ethan sand surfing behind the four-wheeler.

Everyone talked me into riding the dune buggy. I would have to say I feel much safer in the dune buggy than the four-wheeler on the huge dunes. I wish I took pictures of these dunes, but they are the biggest ones I have ever seen. I had to just bite the bullet and go for it. A complete adrenaline rush thats for sure.

I was so proud of Karlie to ride in the dune buggy, because every time she rides with me she says "mom your going to fast. Mom I want to ride with Daddy". My answer, "Is your Dad rides ten times faster than I do". And then she changes her mind. These dunes were actually too big to have the kids ride with us, but I let her ride in the dune buggy which is a lot safer. In the dune buggy she said she screamed, but liked it a lot. Probably because I was not the one driving. She probably didn't dare say much not knowing the driver very well.
